In advance of the 154th session of the World Health Organization Executive Board meeting, GHTC is calling on policymakers to take urgent actions to accelerate health research to address immunization gaps, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, and antimicrobial resistance.
At GHTC's seventh annual Innovating for Impact Awards, Senator Chris Van Hollen and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick received Congressional Champion Awards, and the partners, led by ViiV Healthcare, that developed and are accelerating global access to cabotegravir long acting (CAB-LA) for HIV prevention received the Partnership Award.
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27), and Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) introduced the Supporting Innovative Global Health Technologies (SIGHT) Act of 2023, which would establish a disease-agnostic research and development program at the US Agency for International Development, in the House of Representatives.
